With stories like The Daily Caller’s JournoList scoops and Big Government’s Shirley Sherrod video, a new generation of conservative news websites have driven traffic this summer, so it didn’t come as a huge surprise that Glenn Beck, fresh from staging a march on Washington, announced he was getting in on the action and launching one of his own.
After all, with President Barack Obama’s job approval ratings slipping to the low 40s and Republicans poised to make big gains in November, it’s a good time to be right-leaning on the web.

In July, conservative blogs climbed to the top of Technorati’s political blog ranking for the first time, pushing the Huffington Post to the fifth slot (though HuffPo continues to be the top-ranked blog overall). Sites like The Daily Caller and Big Government, both of which have launched in the past year, have given momentum to a conservative presence on the web led by the Drudge Report and bolstered by Michelle Malkin’s four-year-old Hot Air.
But the significance of The Blaze, Beck’s news and opinion site launched Monday under the editorship of former Breitbart TV editor Scott Baker may be not so much in what it says about the conservative media’s growing online footprint as in the seemingly endless possibilities of multi-media self-promotion.
A website staffed by four people is relatively small beer in the scope of Beck’s $32 million media empire, with its foundation in publishing and radio. Even his three-year contract on Fox News, for which he is probably most famous to the wider public, only brings in $2 million – half of what he made through his other digital enterprises in the last fiscal year, according to Forbes.
But The Blaze will offer Beck another level of the kind of cross platform promotion that he has elevated to a high art, according to Michael Harrison, publisher of Talkers magazine.
“These are all different segments of that which is Glenn Beck which will work in harmony together to cross-promote each other, and to put money in his pocket,” Harrison said. “He’s not typical, but he’s a model that others will strive to emulate – the 21st-century multimedia star who is not just books or radio, but all media in synergy with each other. It’s creating new concerns how contracts are being drawn up.”

From what I have seen and heard, a bunch of angry, mostly white liberals, out of touch and step with most Americans are very fearful of Beck. Because Beck has shaken the sleeping giant called middle Amercia.
After Beck's, "I have a Scheme," weekend long infomercial in DC, you would have to be a real idiot to not know he only wants to continue enriching himself.
So he was right, it wasn't all about politics, even though the only speakers he would allow were conservative politicians, it was all about the money!

If so, did you see the part where he explained why he changed the Honor Rally from a political to a religious event?
Beck said God told him to change the political rally into a religious event.
I don't suppose that the inabilty of donors to write off political contributions on their taxes had a single thing to do with it?
Beck used charitable contributions intended for America's veterans to fund this lack luster, insipid excuse for a rally.
It became a religious rally in order to facilitate donor tax write offs.
St. Beck makes a very poor Ted Haggard, as if we needed another one.

News sources like Politico,Huffpo.NY-times,Washington Post, and the MSM have a problem with the truth. Beck believes to tell the truth no matter how it effects the political scene, truth is important. I don't want socialists in the federal government spending my tax money on their ideas and trashing Capitalism. I didn't hear any negative spin when Politico spun of the Washington Post.

I can only assume you missed the day-of coverage of the Beck rally from liberal bloggers and press. The phrase "overwhelmingly white" appeared in almost 100% of the postings, even in the "writings" of "authors" not previously known to have been JournoList members. Uncanny!
